The connection methods include threaded and welded. According to the angle, there are three most commonly used elbows: 45°, 90°, and 180°. Classification of carbon steel elbows
★According to its curvature radius, it can be divided into long radius elbows and short radius elbows. Long radius elbow means that its curvature radius is equal to 1.5 times the outer diameter of the pipe, that is, R=1.5D. Short radius elbow means that its curvature radius is equal to the outer diameter of the pipe, that is, R=1.0D. (D is the diameter of the elbow, R is the curvature radius. D can also be expressed in times.)
If classified by pressure level, there are about seventeen types, which are the same as the American pipe standards, including: Sch5s, Sch10s, Sch10, Sch20, Sch30, Sch40s, STD, Sch40, Sch60, Sch80s, XS; Sch80, Sch100, Sch120, Sch140, Sch160, XXS, among which STD and XS are the most commonly used.

★According to the process form, it can be divided into: butter welded elbow, stamped steel elbow, cast steel elbow, etc.
Basic process of carbon steel elbow
First, weld a polygonal ring shell with a polygonal cross section or a polygonal sector shell with closed ends. After the pressure medium is filled inside, internal pressure is applied. Under the action of internal pressure, the cross section gradually changes from polygon to circle, and finally becomes a circular ring shell. According to needs, a circular ring shell can be cut into 4 90° elbows or 6 60° elbows or elbows of other specifications. This process is suitable for manufacturing large elbows of any specification with a ratio of the elbow middle diameter to the elbow inner diameter greater than 1.5 times. It is an ideal method for manufacturing large carbon steel elbows.
